Face-to-face consultation available in Kendal & Carlisle

Remote consultation by video or telephone

Welcome to my consultation page, I look forward to meeting you soon.

I am happy to see you for face to face consultations. You will of course be able to have your session remotely with video or telephone consultations should you prefer.

You can be reassured that I have fully risk assessed my premises and the consultation process and have made the necessary changes to the layout of the clinic venue.

When you book an appointment, please let me know whether you wish to attend the clinic or have a remote consultation. For in-clinic appointments, you will receive a reminder email 24 hours before your appointment that contains a mini questionnaire to screen you for COVID-19 symptoms.

This will need to be completed prior to your arrival at the clinic and any positive responses will mean that your consultation will have to remain remote. You will also receive guidance on what to expect when you arrive at my premises.

Where Can I See Liz For A Consultation?

The majority of my In-person clinics are held at my office in Kendal, but you can also see me in central Carlisle. My Kendal office is within 10 minutes of Junction 36 and therefore easily accessible for South Lakes, Cumbria, North Lancashire & Yorkshire, most of North West England and my Carlisle clinic is also within easy reach of Southern Scotland.

Consultations are available on weekdays and the venue has disabled access.

It is important that your Family Doctor is fully aware of any health problems you may have; if you have not already consulted him/her with regards to your symptoms please do so prior to coming to see me for the first time.

What can I expect from my first consultation?

Once you make an appointment to see me for a consultation, I will send you an invite to log in to a confidential portal and share some questionnaires for you within this portal. These should be completed before your first appointment. If you have had any blood tests done by your doctor, it would be useful for you to bring the results along with you so that I can assess them from a functional medicine perspective.

At your first appointment, I will ask you to tell me in detail about the problems you want help with; I will also ask for details of your medical history, any treatments you may have had, your family history, and your general state of physical and emotional well-being.
We will also discuss your diet and look at lifestyle factors which may be affecting your health.

I may recommend laboratory tests if I feel they would be helpful.

What you get following your initial in-depth consultation:

A personalised dietary programme with a meal planner, recipes and supplement recommendations and support handouts to help you to make the changes as easily as possible. These will be shared with you via the confidential portal within a few days of your appointment.

Interpretation of your blood tests from a functional health perspective along with a comprehensive interpretation of any lab tests I recommend.
If you have indicated that you would like Homeopathic Remedies as part of your treatment plan, then these will be sent out after your appointment.

It is my intention to support all aspects of your physical and emotional well-being and to empower you so that you can live your life to its full potential.

Why should I have follow up consultations?

Follow-ups are important. They give you an opportunity to discuss in detail any problems you are experiencing and allow me to assess your response to the programme I have set and make any adjustments necessary to optimise the benefits to you.

In addition, you will get an updated supplement sheet and diet recommendations where appropriate, along with an interpretation of any new test results and additional relevant handouts.

I usually recommend that the follow-ups are initially at 4-6 weekly intervals depending upon the level of support you feel that you need.

Support In-between Consultations

I do give you comprehensive handouts to help support you through making dietary and lifestyle changes.

If you are experiencing any problems you will be able to contact me in between consultations.

If this is not something that can be resolved with a quick email, you will be charged for my time.

If you cannot carry out any recommendations because the information is unclear or missing, then you can email or call between consultations to get the information you need.
